Hi Stampers!
Last week Thursday was the Thanksgiving Day holiday here in the U.S., and I realized how much I have to be thankful for. I have a wonderful family and a rewarding full-time job with a great company. I also am lucky to have a fabulous hobby in stamping and card-making - and Stampin' Up! makes it easy to create heartfelt cards and projects I am proud to share with others!
I was live on Facebook today with a few projects featuring a special release Designer Series Paper called Delightful Floral - have you seen it? It features floral images and greenery matching the Translucent Floral Stamp set and dies, but you don't have to have the bundle to enjoy the beautiful papers!
Here is a quick card using 2 squares of DSP and a die cut from the Gorgeously Made Dies (a must have in your collection!).
The squares measure 2 7/8", each adhered to a mat layer of Parakeet Party Cardstock that is 3" square. The die is cut from Pretty Peacock Cardstock and the sentiment comes from Go-To Greetings Stamp Set (yep - another must have!). A few adhesive backed sequins in Pretty Peacock finish off the card.
Another fun card is this modified z-fold. I got the idea for this card and the above card from US Demonstrator Julie Davison.
This card is made from a 4 1/4" by 11" piece of Berry Burst Cardstock, scored at 1" and 6 1/2" on the long (11") side. Then I chose a bold pattern for the card front (4" by 4" square), a 2 1/2" by 4" piece for the middle fold, and a 1 1/4" by 4" piece of the ditzy pattern for the inside. When closed, both prints are visible, creating the usual 5 1/2" by 4 1/4" size card.
Here's a view of the card when it is unfolded:
I love the "B" sides of each of the patterns of this DSP too - they each feature a textured, watercolored look with one of the colors in the collection. Here I used the pattern with Berry Burst for the middle fold to give a tone-on-tone look.
I hope you'll be inspired to make a similar card with DSP you already have on hand, or if you love the Delightful Floral DSP, be sure to pick it up ASAP since it is a limited, special release and is only available while supplies last.
