Hi Friends!
Last week I had fun making cards with the Dainty Flowers DSP, including stamping on the watercolor & splatter pattern with the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set. I used the Brilliant Wings Dies to cut out the individual butterflies.
I took the largest butterfly and set it off against a white background for this next card. I used Basic White Thick Cardstock as a card base with a piece of Basic White layered on top, embossed with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. The sentiment comes from the Go To Greetings stamp set, stamped in Starry Sky ink on a piece of the same watercolor pattern from the DSP pack. One end of the strip is punched with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch.
Finally, I adhered the remaining butterflies to a piece of basic white cardstock with liquid glue. Then, I took a panel of Blushing Bride and used the largest smooth circle from the Layering Circles Dies to cut a circle out of the top center. For some added texture, I embossed it with the Fern Embossing Folder. I adhered it to the card front with Foam Adhesive Strips. The sentiment is from Textures of Chic, stamped in Starry Sky.
I had a lot of fun planning cards around the butterflies. I decided to copy the circle card layout for another card, using another set of Designer Series Papers available FREE with a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration - Favored Flowers.
It seemed a little bold for me, but once I saw it in person, I fell in love!
Here is the variation on the circle window card I made using it. I paired with a Sweet Sorbet layer - that color is not in the DSP specifically, but I thought it matched well with the shades of Calypso Coral and Petal Pink in the flowers. The sentiment is from the Bamboo Beauty stamp set, stamped in Momento Black ink on Petal Pink cardstock, punched with the Heart Punch Pack. I added some Black & White Gingham Ribbon as a finishing touch.
I love purple, so natrually, I love this pattern of roses in Fresh Freesia and Blackberry Bliss. I layered a piece of this pattern with a panel of Fresh Freesia on a Basic Black Cardstock base. The reverse side of this sheet is a lovely diamond pattern in Blackberry Bliss, so I adhered a strip to the right side of the Basic White panel on the inside of the card. I trimmed 1" off the card front, which shows off the strip on the inside. I went back to the Bamboo Beauty stamp set for the greeting.
I hope some of these cards have inspired you! Happy crafting!
Michelle
